Simple Homemade Window Cleaner

6 Staples of Green Cleaning

Homemade Cleaning Supplies

  • Baking Soda

  • White Vinegar

  • Borax

  • Lemon Juice

  • Washing Soda

  • Castile Soap

  • Are you out of the blue stuff?

Now is a great time to mix your own homemade window cleaner.

For the most common homemade glass cleaner, mix the following in a spray bottle:

  • 3 tablespoons white vinegar
  • 24 oz warm water
  • Wipe windows clean with newspaper or an earth-friendly paper towel.

If you aren't in the mood to pull out the measuring spoons, try club soda. I added it straight to the spray bottle and wiped the windows with newspaper. It really works!

If my nose was choosing between the two, it would definitely pick the club soda. My windows would probably go with the vinegar solution. It worked as well, if not better than the commercial blue glass cleaner.
